Blue Southern BBQ believes that barbeque is more than just food; it is a way to bring folks together, enjoy family and have fun with those you care about.
We are barbeque fanatics and we love what we do; it is high time we shared our love for great barbeque with the world. Bringing you only the finest barbeque there is to offer.
“An attitude of gratitude” shown to our customers, employees and vendors – because without their input, service, labor and time, our business would not be here without them!
Provide the warm and friendly service expected from a family-style restaurant creating an informal, comfortable environment which will make the customers satisfied and want to return again and again.
My cooking experience began as a young boy impatiently waiting for dinner to be completed by my mother. Frustrated with my constant pestering she told me if I wanted dinner faster I could help; and so I did. This eventually grew into a love for cooking as I tasted and tested many ingredients and spices. As I grew older I began my apprenticeship on the grill, watching and learning from my father and grandfather as they passed down generations of traditions and recipes. As I continued to hone my skills, perfecting techniques for indirect cooking and searing, I received my first smoker as a gift. This sparked something greater in my cooking spirit and launched my skills to new levels. My family & friends provided the critical feedback to me as I tweaked my recipes to what I offer from Blue Southern BBQ. I only use real lump burned wood as fuel and various flavored woods to complement different cuts of meat in my smoking process. No Gas, No Electric, NO LIQUID SMOKE! Pit Smoking the purest way it was meant to be, in true southern tradition.
Blue Southern BBQ, for me always existed in my dreams and didn’t come to fruition until the spring of 2015. In fact, the dream began to take root on the tail end of a family sponsored cooking competition between my brother and co-founder (Michael Tony Green). We continuously spoke about what we would serve and how we could bring great BBQ to the northern VA area. Tony was hospitalized before our first large event and unfortunately, he passed before he could see Blue Southern BBQ in its full glory. But he will always be considered one of our founders and as Blue Southern BBQ continues to grow, I will always remember the long conversations between Tony and I, about if only we shared our wonderful food with the world, how great it would be.
I hope you enjoy the purest approach in my ‘Q’ as much as my; family, friends and I do. I look forward to serving you and making your event special. Please feel free to ask questions as it would be my pleasure to help you in any way possible!
I am a veteran of the US Army and I am proud of my service. I am also proud of my business and try to incorporate the very same values I learned in the military into my business. Customer service is a priority and if you have an issue I will do my best to resolve it. I take great pride in what I do and I will always push to be the best. This is more than just a business, I want to share my love of great BBQ with my customers and in the end hope they come back to have the same experience over and over again.
